The Story of Your Photographer

Hi, I am Brian Balloon.

Welcome to my photography portfolio and thank you for visiting!

My initial interest in dance started when I was back in California and took elective courses after college of Jazz Piano and Jazz Dance. I remember I got an "A" out of the classes and that confirmed, to me, that I had some dance potential! But fast forward a couple decades later after a wife and two kids, and it was moreso photography itself that captured my eye. I began with Instagram model photography and progressed to capturing movement and working with ballet and urban dancers around the DFW area. Capturing the lines and movement of a dancer, whether a pose or a leap, or the preparation for a performance, or the mood using just the right light in a shot, that is my goal as your photographer.

My creative history has included being a member of many choirs, including junior high and high school choirs, tarting my own a cappella group in college, the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, Dallas Symphony Chorus, and singing in church groups. Music is a rich part of my history, and so it's fitting that the artistic expression of dance also be added to it!

I am always seeking to attend workshops and educational shoots to network and improve my dance photography, and am honored to be featured among the best portrait photographers in Dallas, TX by Snappr and to have my dance photography featured in several magazines. Now that you know about me, I hope to work with you and to become your dance photographer of choice!

While I specialize in portrait and dance photography, I also enjoy doing many different types of photography, including family and life events, food, fashion, sports and fitness. I am dedicated to capturing your style and your amazing moments and bringing them to life in images!
